Away Form Becomes True Test
By: Edward | November 9th, 2007
It appears that Norwich’s trip to Plymouth tomorrow will be their true test under Roeder. Derby games can often throw up inconsistent performances and Watford are top of the league. We must remember that. As a Norwich fan, I have noticed in particular that the away form for the last three years or so has been appalling. We even recruited a psychologist at one point for this very reason. The difference was strangely hidden. It is even more crucial now being in the position we are in. In order to reach the aim of fourth-from-bottom we will have to start picking up points away from home as well as starting to get some at Carrow Road. Oh, the dreams.
We lost 3-1 at home to Watford on Tuesday night but they are a sharp, fast side and we probably would have blown out were we in a better position. It was nice to see Lee Croft get a goal and surely with doubts over Chadwick he will claim a place in the starting line-up. I feel he adds a threat and potency along with reliability. The slightly too “hefty” John Hartson has departed after what was, to be honest, an embarrassing spell at Norwich. Dion Dublin is still out and as already mentioned Chadwick looks doubtful. It seems Chris Brown will get a start. He should be given more chances now he has broken his goal-duck and Cureton likes playing with that type of player - definately a bonus. Is this naivite…or, am I finally losing my pessimistic streak? Plymouth are the sort of side we should expect the odd result from, surely…?
