Therefore Gunny was sacked and had to make his own way back to Norfolk. Butterworth has walked this week. All parties remain tight lipped. Any thoughts people?

The recruitment process began in earnest for the press today with an announcement from the Borad that Chief Executive David McNally met with the Club’s number one target yesterday, having had permission from the club to speak to him.

“The process has started,” he said. “We have a short list of people that we’re interested in. I would also add that many, many people have applied for the position, but this is a head-hunting exercise rather than us interviewing people who have applied for the role. We have identified in order who we would like to see and we’ve focussed on our number one target.”

“I’ve met with him and we are in talks. Unfortunately, at this stage, I can’t confirm when he will be at the football club but I am confident that at some point as soon as possible we should be able to make a positive announcement. He is currently in employment at another football club.”

Thankfully this rules out the likes of Boothroyd, Kinnear, Dowie, Strachan and the like as he staes that the man in question is in employment at another English club. Obviously Mourinho and Prandelli are also ruled out by this admission, which is a shame!

Any thoughts on who it may be or who you would like to see would be interesting.

Scunthorpe’s Nigel Adkins would not appear to be on the list yet if their chairman is to be believed as he claims to have had no contact from City regarding their manager. I can’t see Winkelman allowing Paul Ince to leave MKDons again having only just returned to them this summer following his spell at Blackburn, and I’m not sure he would walk out on them again. I honestly can’t think of someone I’d love to have at the club apart from the aforementioned Prandelli!!

Is the next manager at laughing stock fc to be Lawrie Sanchez following his excellent record with teams in the doldrums with lower league Wycombe, and Northern Ireland. The obvious link that he has a Fulham connection with our new Chief Executive David McNally puts Sanchez firmly in the frame I think.

At last a centre half and another forward. Adrian Leijer has joined as previously posted, on loan until the end of the season and Cody McDonald has been signed on 1.5 year deal. Chris Killen and Alan Gow join from the SPL on loan deals which may become permanent. They add to Wednesdays loan signing of David Carney. Unfortunately, Arturo Lupoli has had his loan from Fiorentina terminated, boooooo! Unconfirmed reports say he has signed at Sheffield United. Elliott Omozusi shares the same fate as Arturo and has rejoined Fulham

Cody Mcdonald has signed his first professional terms joining us from Dartford after scoring 19 goals in 20 games earnt him a trial at Colney where he duly impressed to earn a one and a half year deal with the option of an extension if he progresses enough. Charlton, Palace and Reading were all monitoring the 22 year old who has been handed the number 27 shirt. I welcome his signing as nothing ventured, nothing gained. At least give the boy his chance and see how it goes. Excellent work Gaffer.

Our Antipodean connection has increased too, with a second Aussie, Adrian Leijer’s loan from Fulham with Elliott Omozusi returning to the Cottagers. I’d certainly like to thank Elliott for coming to Carrow Road and would welcome him back with open arms in the future. He played very well out of position at centre half when required especially against the scum, laying a good platform for us to beat the portaloo road boys. Another good piece of business from Gunny though getting in a recognised centre half and if he’s got anything like the work rate and application of Elliott then we’ve signed a good ‘un.

Bad news regarding the loss of Arturo Lupoli. I for one don’t believe he had a fair crack of the whip here. He’s a really good player who we only got to see flashes of due to selection prejudices. Certainly he should have been starting ahead of Cureton. I wish him well and am sure he’ll reappear in the Championship either as a late signing due to the weather or when the loan window opens in a month.

So the ins are; Adrian Leijer (centre half), David Carney (left winger), Chris Killen (striker), Alan Gow (attacking midfielder/forward) and Cody McDonald (striker).

Outs; Arturo Lupoli, Elliott Omozusi, Omar Koroma (all loan terminated), John Kennedy (injured loan terminated), David Bell (Coventry City, undisclosed), Luke Chadwick (MK Dons, undisclosed).

Any thoughts on the transfer dealings?

However, the paper claims he is a striker so maybe it’s just something to take up space in their publication. He signed a contract extension to 2011 a year ago and is a fans favourite winning their fans player of the season last year. Being one of the Dons most experienced players it would certainly be a strange move if they let him go. Zander has captained the Scottish U21 side and is a player that came through the Aberdeen academy.

There seem to be several different sources claiming that a takeover has occurred at Norwich City. Certainly Delia and Michael have been extremely quiet over the past few weeks.
Peter Foulger has denied being in talks over takeover, but is trying to raise funds for Gunny’s transfer pot.
More news, or speculation, as it breaks. Or doesn’t.
