More acquisitions as break draws to a close…

By: Edward | November 22nd, 2007

Young loanee Ched EvansHeads up, look forward. England managed an impressive catastrophe yesterday evening at Wembley. Norwich will not do the same on Saturday. Why? Because, like all negativity and insanity, there must be a quota system for civilization to function. Right? I know this makes perfect sense. Norwich will do well this weekend because they have done badly many times previously and the national team debacle must take up some of my negativity in the “football-quota”. Norwich simply cannot do any worse, and England prefigures the lowest possible point in my football world. Onwards and upwards. I know already I have won you round.

Two new loan signings for Mr Glenn Roeder at Norwich. This follows Martin Taylor and Matthew Pattison. Firstly, we have signed a left-back to cover for the irritating injury-suffering Adam Drury and play a position he knows about and is comfortable. Unlike Murray, poor chap – placed in that position by the talented Mr Grant for reasons not entirely understood, perhaps comic, alternatively suicidal, this guy plays with a natural knowledge for the position and when a team is in the situation we are in that understanding is preferable. The new left-back is Mo Camara from Derby. Good good.

The second loan signing unveiled today is Ched Evans, a young striker from Manchester City who has scored 12 goals in 8 starts for the reserves, and also, even more promisingly, scored a hatrick for Wales in their U21 match with France on Tuesday.

Again, I have few complaints. Is my optimism naive? Is it blind, pseudo-religious faith? Psychosis? Perhaps, but maybe its the only way I can survive a season-long fixture list at the moment. Coventry are a club in difficulties too, with a transfer imargo there must be a degree of crisis, flux and frustration. It makes logical sense that with a two week break, 3 new loan signings and long chats with the new coaching staff , a result from a game against Coventry at home is not too much to ask!

On a final note, it would be a nice act of rememberance for a Norwich legend that died suddenly; Graham Paddon.
